Life is short

RIP my dear friend, although I'm not very close to you during college, but we still had memories together. The time we skipped class together and the time we went cc together, i will always remember. Of course, I will remember your smile and coolness/lameness and your super random comment!

This make me realize, life is so short, you wouldn't know when you will go. So people, appreciate the time you have now, appreciate the people you are with now, live your life to the fullest.

Lol, i wonder when was the last time i stress for assignment. SAM? first year? definitely not last year. 

I haven had any assignments since i came brissy, just exam all the way. 

Still remember last time, got assignment or project, definitely will procrastinate and blog about the amount of assignments i had and how little time i had.

Another thing! Today i spent the longest time ever in my life camping in library!

I had never stayed in the library so long before!

My mid term result is not as good as I expected! Let's put that aside for now, it's holiday!!

I have got 10 days of holidays in total because of Good Friday, Easter week and Labour day. I know, Canberra Adelaide people got 2 weeks, but 1 week is enough for me :)

Lets just briefly update what have i done for the past few days during the holiday.
Friday: Good Friday, basically all shops are close on this day, i just stayed at home whole day. Went out to friend's place for dinner and 'Coming Soon'
Saturday: Harbour Town! Total damage, AUD100
Sunday: Easter Sunday, same as Friday, almost all shops are close today. Spent half day at friend's place, then stone at home.
Monday: Anzac Day, went to the Gallery of Modern Art for art exhibition. Pics will be up soon
Tuesday: was suppose to go Surfers Paradise, ended up in Pacific Fair the whole day because it was raining whole day =.= and i went gold coast just for a burger.
Wednesday: today whole day movie at home. night eat out at China Kitchen, super oily and spicy, I dont think its nice. After dinner, 2 more movies.
Thursday: today movie in cinema, Fast Five then dinner. Tried Max Brenner for the first time, i know i know, i super slow la.

Friday: So this is the plan, its either go for barbecue or visit Mt Cootha.
Saturday and Sunday: MORETON ISLAND!!! RAWR!!!
Monday: Labour day, haven't thought of it yet. Haha.

Well, I think this year my easter break is not bad as compared to last year. Last year I spent 4 days 3 nights in Gold Coast and went to all the theme parks. I definitely spend less this holiday.

Comedian driver

Today went Brisbane city library because I know i will have a lot of free time next week, so I am going to borrow a book to burn my time next week. Then I went casino with friends. That was all in the plan. I won 10 dollar, that was not in the plan, LOL.

My initial plan after casino is to go crazy clark and get some stuff then go back home for dinner. Who knows when i went crazy clark at 4.30, already tutup. Since I won 10 dollar, i thought i should treat myself nice dinner tonight, so i followed my friends for korean food, again.

Everything was normal, until i board the bus back home. I think my bus driver want to be a comedian but end up being a driver. He was friendly and funny. After we all went in the bus, he switched off the engine and walk to the back of the bus and started talking to his passenger. He asked what we did in the city today then talk a bunch of crap and joke around, LOL.

When we about to leave, a police car pass by, he acted like he is the convict and try to duck and avoid being seen by the police. Haha, what a bus ride.

It's not over yet.

When we reached another main stop, he said he is early by 2 minutes, so he left his driver seat and started talking to us. Then a woman came in looking for the driver, he hid at the back of the chair, LOL! After that, he start talking to the woman, bla bla bla, and found out its her birthday. He asked us to sing her birthday song and he gave her a free ride. Hahaha.

At least this driver is nice, friendly and always smile, not like some driver always show the emo face. I see that also no mood already.

Few days ago, my two housemates just got their cloth delivered here which they bought online, which is very cheap, which is so unfair why guys stuff cannot be that cheap!! So they tried on and wanted to take picture, and this is what we did. We played with my laptop webcam effect. Haha. Oh yeah, haven't really introduce my housemates, will do so soon.

Procrastination 101

My ex housemate once told me a joke.

Lecturer: Today we will not be doing anything, lets continue tomorrow. Class dismiss.

Laugh la, if not he will emo leh. LOL.

But seriously, i have been procrastinating (omg, so hard to type this word) for so long already. Yesterday I said i will study for my exam, ended up watching show whole day. Today I said I will be studying, now is 10pm already and i didnt even touch my notes at all. I promised myself I will study tomorrow, and i have a feeling I will be watching show during my free time again.

Maybe I really am those that last minute people. Must be last minute only willing to start working. Must be last minute study only its effective. Its just like gambling, high risk high return. Haha.

Today went Edamame for dinner, because all my housemates never been there before! WHY! WHY you all no eat EDAMAME? So I decided to bring them there to try out how nice it is. Trust me, its nice :) UQMSA member got 10% discount somemore. Why not? I had Beef teriyaki, first time trying, not too bad.

Sunday..

Haih, another sian Sunday. Everyone is either studying for midterm or rushing assignment. My only entertainment is my laptop+internet. Yea, just started the first episode of 巾幗梟雄, i know, this show was super long time ago already, but i heard its very nice, so i shall watch it, looks like it will be a long way to go.

Was wondering how to cheer up my housemates, since they all are so stress. Then i look at the pantry, hmmm flour. Why not do pan mee.

And so I started doing at 11.30. The first round turned out not that good, it was too soft and I made too little for 4 people. So I made another round, this time it was ok. I wanted to make like those long long noodle, but after doing a few, i too lazy already so changed to those 'yat gao' one which is easier cause just tear it then throw into water and you're done. Haha.

Not too bad. Third time doing pan mee in Brissy, got room for improvement.

Anyway, easter break is coming, looks like will be staying in Queensland again, maybe gold coast again? Shall try another round of Springbrook, whos up for it? :)

First Exam of The Year

Today I had my first exam of year 2011. Well, not really first, if you count in those quizzes, but its still an official mid-term paper! Accounting, this time i really very last minute only started studying, all thanks to HK drama. I was watching 绝代商交 last week, and yesterday i left 2 more episode to 大结局, being me, of course i wont wait until i finished my paper only continue watching right, so i continue to finish the drama. End up having less and less time to study.

My principle for exam is that I wont touch anything on the day of the exam, unless the exam is at later part of the day, if not, i really won't go revise or read anymore text and notes on that day itself. That is because I think my brain need to rest before the big fight, don't go stress your brain somemore before exam, so that during exam later will be fresher and more semangat. That's my philosophy la. Haha, and i also think that it is important to have enough sleep the day before exam.

Yesterday, I slept late, woke up early and started studying, I didn't follow my philosophy. That day I really scared already, I know i won't be able to finish if i don't speed up. So end up waking up at 6 today and study the whole morning till 11, even before going into exam hall also reading notes. So not me.

Well, at least it's worth it. I managed to finish the question and quite confident about my answer.

The next paper will be on Friday, I shall continue to slack while waiting for that day to come :) maybe start another drama.

As I said earlier, will try to do this, claypot tofu without the claypot. Got the look can already la.

Oh, and today i solo groceries shopping, first went indooroopilly Woollies, then went toowong Coles. At first i thought of going Coles tomorrow, but im lazy to go out again so might as well all buy one shot and walk up the super steep slope back to my house! Why solo? cause im nice :) my housemate semua rush assignments and exam, so i have to take care of them, Haha. and cook for them.

Off to prepare dinner.

Back In Brissy!

Yes Finally! Internet is home baybeh!

Have been internet-less for almost a month at home, have to go uni on and off to go online, luckily uni is just 10 minutes walk from me new home :) so basically i will go uni everyday for the whole month, but its a different story now, nyehehe :D

What an excuse not to blog right, say got no internet access, while i still can facebook and youtube all the time, haha. After a month of leaving this place idle, lets put some words on it, Lol.

Its been a month since i arrived back in Brisbane(i shall call Brissy), arrived here, settle down and luckily no need to go around brissy to look for house again like last year X.x damn stressed la when you cant find a house. I already secured a place in St Lucia last year before i go back to Malaysia :) Alright, then i need to go subscribe for internet, sign up everything already, they debited my account already, and i am so excited thinking i will internet soon. Then the next day an email arrived saying NO AVAILABLE PORT! potong steam only la.

I called TPG and asked:

Me: So how long do i need to wait?

TPG: 2 weeks, sir.

Me: Oh I see, maximum 2 weeks right?

TPG: No sir, minimum 2 weeks.

Me: Oh right.. whats the maximum waiting time then?

TPG: No maximum. (I stoned there for a few sec then say thank you)

Well, that was the past, now whats important is that i can online.

Now, let me talk about my usual uni stuff, bare with me :)

This sem is my final year first sem, taking ECON2300, FINM3402, FINM3404 and ACCT3102.

1 assignment, few quizzes, 3 midterms and 4 finals.

Yup , thats all. Good luck to me. I am still slacking, haven revise any subject yet :) and the first midterm paper is next week.

Enough of study stuff. Now is time for food!!!

Ahh, how i love eat food, and cook food.

I realised i cook alot of food this year compare to last year. Last year most of the time i just cook pasta and red sauce, dinner settle. Very rare i will cook chinese food, like sek fan, maybe around 4-5 times a month.

This year? Almost everyday also i cook chinese food, I mean i will really spend time to prepare the dishes. We even have the whole week menu planned out! How systematic. Sometimes will try out some new dishes also.

I guess its because of James, he really know his stuff, my sifu. Haha. Yea, my next post will be full of food photo, better eat full full first before reading my next post! :)

This year i significantly paying less money for rent, AUD500 per month compare to 770 last year, because i am sharing room. And i feel that i am spending less also this year, dunno why, so means i got extra pocket money to spend! Yea, my roommate, dia itu JPA scholar tahu! study biotech! so hardworking! i dont even want stay in room, later scare kacau him! His name Alvin!

Alright, enough for now. I need to watch youtube d, dont want to waste the internet quota :P

You Don't Owe Money Over CNY

Happy Chinese New Year 兔 you all! haha.

HUAT ah! I think it's a tradition already for us chinese to gamble during CNY. Everywhere you go, everyone you know will say "Gong Hey Fatt Choi! got win or not?", how would you know whether i gamble or not. LOL! Well of course, I did gamble, how can i not gamble, i do that every CNY! I don't ajak people to gamble, but i will ask people tonight come over to lose money to me :) Chun right, very ONG and sure HUAT ah!!

Another thing, I realised a lot of people using "HUAT ah" phrase this year. I think its because of the movie "Where got ghost 吓到笑" (super funny movie, as usual la, singapore movie mahhh). I remembered last year CNY not many people say HUAT, only I did! but this year different case already, everyone are using it, not special anymore.. looks like i need to look for new CNY word to make me look special.. heheh. but before i found 1, HUAT ah!!

Talking about gamble, buying numbers(toto) also consider a type of gambling. Talking about gambling, my car plate number just got 1st place last week, LOL. HUAT ah! BUT DAD DIDNT BUY! haha. Mum go and blame us say didnt pray for the 财神爷 god of fortune properly. You know normally when there is an accident on the road, then people tend to slow to look and caused traffic jam. Some yeah, they actually do care about the damage, but majority of us (i think) slow down to look at the number plate then buy it tomorrow. On 2nd day of CNY, we pass by the 1u road and it was jam, it was not supposed to jam coz its quite late and its highway, so i'm guessing its accident. Wahla! really got accident but only 1 car, some silly car go and bang the divider. This type of number shudnt buy, dumb dumb 1. LOL. So the day after my car plate number got 1st prize, i don't dare drive fast.... although i did.

Alright, back to topic.

There is this chinese saying "You Don't Owe Money Over CNY". but this year CNY, got people owe me money, not just 10 or 100 ringgit, its rm800!! I haven receive my pay till now which was supposed to be bank in last week! need to complain already, cannot just let it be! and i shall do it tomorrow...

For the last few weeks, have been visiting this forum. Hehe, i pernah quote this forum in my SAM english project. Been spending alot of time looking through all the posts, learned a lot of forum language, like england, powderful, cainis, melei, winrar, kiut, brain and alot la. When i don't understand some of the words, i will check it here. Seriously, why are there so many "words" that only online community can understand, maybe they want to feel special guaaa

Cheated a farewell lunch

2 more days to CNY!! Yay! happy that I can still celebrate chinese new year here before going back to Brissy.

Wow, so many stuff happens over the weekend. Met super lots of new people :)

First of all, I would like to say that I extended my internship. On the last day of internship, after returning the laptop, saying goodbye to everyone, ate the farewell meal, settle all the admin stuff, and getting ready to stop working, i changed my mind and extend my internship till 25th Feb.

I super hardworking right. I super semangat right :)

That's what i told everyone who asked my why i extend, Haha. Actually I wanted to work at my dad's office next week, but dad don't want me to work there, then I wanted to find part time job, but I doubt anyone will want me since I can only work for less than 1 month. Since staying at home also nothing to do, might as well continue to work and earn some money. =P

On the suppose "my last day of internship", the company organised an intern party for us, so nice of them right! The event was held at Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort, got free food and goodies bags, why would I not go. They prepared games for us too, first we played something like Bingo, then some IQ question then lastly, we have to build a paper tower that can hold 3 water bottles. I lazy to describe in detail, ask me in person or msn me la if you want to know more. Oh yeah, they even serve us BEER on the night!

The next day, Saturday. Nicholas, my ex housemate, invited me to join his Rotaract Club Pudu District event to Gardenia for factory visit. Again, why would I not go. I left house at 8 to Kepong KTM, bought ticket to Bandar Tasik Selatan, took me around 45 mins to reach there. That day is the first time I see the special women-only coach, and suprisingly not all women went into that coach eventhought its not full.

Reach there, Nic came fetch me, then met up with other Rotaract member then proceed to the factory in Shah Alam. Waited for a while then went in 2 by 2 (apparently the lady there want us line up 2 by 2 so its easier for them to jaga us, Haha!). Watched a 20 minutes clip on the history and production of Gardenia, i was fishing half way through, lol. Then finally its the factory visit. Skip. Then Q&A. Skip. Then my favourite part of the day, free bread!!! Everyone that day get 1 goodies bag! Inside got a loaf of bread, some buns and twiggies!! (I took extra twiggies on the way out, nyehehehe).

Joined them for lunch and fellowship at Kota Kemuning, I have no idea where is that place, I budak PJ la. Chit chat, meet some new friends then balik rumah. Nic sent me back home since his new house is near my area. Thanks bro. Super tired that, went back home straight nap already, somemore that evening was raining, lagi best to sleep!

Sunday, went Gardens shopping and dad bought an IPad for his office. He make me hesitate whether to get an IP4 or not la. How la now?!!! Need a new phone fast!

Shopping Spree, Not

I am back, after one week! Really, last few days dam lazy to update, i think i wont be updating as often as i promised d. LOL

Quite happy last week, well, met up with some of my SAM friends last Friday.

It has been 2 years i didn't see them, well at least some of them. We had our reunion at Sunway Pyramid then second round at AC, organised by Aishan. Met up with Sheldon, Sue, Bob, Joanne, Christina, Jie Hao, Yao Yun and Aishan. Not many people as a lot cannot make it, hope to have another soon with them

Seriously wei, i miss the time when i was in SAM! It was a small class, around 20 people, everyone basically know each other very well. Had lots of fun back then, haih, happy times... After graduate, none of them went UQ with me :( mostly Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and Malaysia. NONE in Brissy! but most of us still keep in touch and almost all of us doing the same course :) accounting and finance!!! YEAH!

Anyway, been going around malls to do shopping for CNY. Been to One Utama(OU), Curve, Ikano like 674329 times, pyramid twice, mid valley and other malls once, guess what i got for CNY?! :)
I had got myself a pair of jeans and shoes. Yup, that is all for me. It's so hard to get shirt for me, because I am picky and cheap. Haha.

Too expensive, i won't buy.
Too lala, i won't buy.
Too big, i won't buy.
Too cheap, also i won't buy. (kiasu mah)

Sometimes i think, guys cloths are so limited, i once read it somewhere, mens cloth has 4 different categories, namely jacket, dress shirt, t-shirt and Polo. When compared to womens cloth, its like China and Malaysia(good comparison right! haha). Its either super expensive and nice, or cheap and not nice. Seldom you see is cheap and nice, only sometime during sales period. Maybe that is why, the male population are more keen on watch(my opinion), and that is why the watch industry target their male customers more. Look around at all watch ads, you hardly see any female model, mostly are mens like Andy Lau and Pierce Brosnan.

Talking about sales period, I missed the YES! All the 50% and 70% are all gone, now left only with 10% and new arrival. I hope next week or during CNY period will have another sales, so i can do my shopping here before going back Brissy. Its better to get cloth here and wear in brissy, at least you wont bang cloth with the Aussie, haha. Seriously! the shirt i bought in JJ, walk along the street and you can see at least 3 wearing the same shirt. So not COOL!

While walking in all the malls, i realised something. Looks like alot of people craze over polo. Polo as in not RL Polo, but close to RL Polo, those cheaper version but look alike 1. When you walk in any departmental store, you will see a big crowd at the 'polo' section. Now everyone can afford :) and look nice.

I bet those that used their hard earned money to get the super expensive, authentic RL Polo must be very upset. Now everyone looks the same as them, now everyone has the same status, they are not very special anymore. Got one time, when i was eating in some ulu place restaurant, i saw a foreign worker wearing big horse RL polo cleaning the table!! =.= even they can afford already(obviously is a fake). I was telling my manager the other day, even if you got an authentic, super expensive RL shirt, people will doubt whether it is real or fake when they see you, unless they can really differentiate it. Isn't the purpose of getting a real branded stuff suppose to show that you can afford it, and not give people the impression that it is fake?! dam sad right. I got 2 cheap polo from RL factory outlet, does that consider real or fake? :)

That is why i don't really go for RL now, its time to look for something new and expensive... cheh... will be heading to pavilion next week i guess to do more shopping, more like window shopping.

Last week, i went for my first toastmaster club meeting, and resolution is the word of the day. everyone are encourage to use the word 'resolution' as many times as possible during discussion or speech. I didn't know resolution got so many meaning until i went and google just now!

3. A course of action determined or decided on.
4. A formal statement of a decision or expression of opinion put before or adopted by an assembly such as the U.S. Congress.

i don't even know half of the meaning existed, the dictionary missed out 1, photo resolution! So finally i found a new name for my blog, i feel my old blog name super lame, what 'new chung seriously', out of date already la, RESOLUTION is the new cool! LOL.

It suit me so well, i said i wanted to change, there you go - new year resolution.

They asked me what is my new year resolution, and i quote my blog. I said, i want to meet more new people, expand my social network, that is why i join the club meeting, cheh... must 拍马屁(flatter) abit mah.

I just found out something! i used google translation just now to translate 拍马屁, and it came out "kowtow"! LOL, i didn't know kowtow is an english word until today! I literally laughed out loud, hahaha. I really learned a new word today, new english word. Haha. Not bad ah, kowtow already made its way to english dictionary, what will be the next chinese word to achieve this? Lansi?

Anyway, i learned alot during the meeting, and i will go again next week for my second and last toastmaster club meeting before i leave EY, haha.

1st 鱼生 of the year

Today post from home again, because seriously no free time in office. I dont feel so useless anymore, super happy can do something to help out my manager :) when you very long got nothing to do, then suddenly got given a simple task, you will feel lazy to start working again, because no more slacking, and thats me! but i super semangat today, don't know why. Maybe because i cut my hair O.o hahaha, super random.

Saturday was dad's company dinner, i think is 15 years old already? Im so proud of my dad ;) haha.

yes yes, its the facebook movie. i had got the movie for few months already but still dont bother to watch it. people say it is nice and inspiring. hmmm, maybe i should just watch it this weekend.

anyway, what i want to say is, i need to expand my social network! if i dont do it now during studying life, i wont have that much chance anymore. I had been looking over the net for volunteer work, events, campaign, camps and even marathan, even i dont have the stamina to finish the whole race. i need to meet new peoplessss.

i am so going to join lots of clubs in Uni, espicially the malaysia club, i will be super active this year. lucky i went volunteer for the pre-predepature talk last week, now i got more malaysian friends in UQ! I also will look for a job there in aussie, i need more money! lol, i said that since last year but never pergi buat..

im also planning a gathering with my fellow primary 6 friends which i didnt see them for almost a decade. thats why we need a gathering la. some of them actually forgot each other d but i still remember. See, got me as a friend very good 1.

this thursday going to attend the toastmasters club in office after work because they serve free dinner, haha. NO LA, not coz of the free dinner la, its to meet new people and improve my english! :) hope the people there are nice and friendly. give chance for this newbie. haha
